Iranda, I think it’s fair to say that we haven’t done well in AUS tri-series overall.

Thanks a lot, keep listening 🙂

As Maestro pointed out, we
As Maestro pointed out, we were in a similar position in the first Test, but we couldn’t get up to a decent score. Chandimal’s attitude made a clear difference in the 2nd Test.
We were negative against AUS and PAK. It was good to see them try their best after a while. That is why I said
“There is no shame in losing to a better team after trying your best.”
Win or lose I’d like to play them like that. It was the positive attitude that impressed me more than anything.
Of course winning match in swinging conditions is a more difficult challenge. Never denied that. I’m not one of those blind optimists 😀
SunJ, exactly what I’m trying
SunJ, exactly what I’m trying to say. We are not evaluating our Test wins here. This is more to do with the positive attitude.
This team had been playing
This team had been playing pathetic cricket for a while regardless of the conditions. So playing some positive cricket can be described as “SL brand of cricket”. I’m pretty sure SL don’t have to win/compete in seaming/swinging conditions to find SL brand of cricket. Besides, that wasn’t an absolute flat track where SL batsmen usually thrive. It was still an unexpected win against a top team in their own backyard.
It was kind of obvious,
It was kind of obvious, wasn’t it? I mean the difference of conditions in those 2 Tests. Still it was a sporting track all right. I was impressed with the way Chandimal attacked more than anything. He would have tried that on any track. Yes, maybe he would have failed in condition similar to Centurion. Even Aussies have been struggling against lateral movement. SL trying their best inspired me to write this because they had been playing like a bunch of headless chickens for a while.
Thank you everyone
Thank you guys. Happy New
Thank you guys. Happy New Year 😀
Hilal, I was talking about
Hilal, I was talking about PJ’s Wkeeping there. I don’t have a problem with his batting. He’s been below par from the start of that Indian tour.
It’s bleedingly obvious that
It’s bleedingly obvious that his Wkeeping has gone downhill if you look at our Tests starting from IND tour. God bless world cricket if PJ is the best Wkeeper ATM.
We don’t need a top-notch Wkeeper (not that PJ is one ATM) now because we don’t have freaks (Murali, Malinga & Mendis with mystery) anymore. A decent Wkeeper will get the job done for us.
