Good writeup which explains clearly what SLC should do in the coming year. Would like to add few more points. Our batting unit is not yet established and they badly need some competitive cricket before the WC. Only SA series may not be sufficient. Some of the batters like Pathum Nissanka, Dananjaya Lakshan, Charith Asalalka, Sadeera, Ashen Bandara and Chamika K badly need more exposure to organize their batting.

It is a good idea to create a buble mof 24 probables and play at least 5 intra squad T20 matches before the SA tour. This will ensure that a probable squad of 16 players will get at least 10 matches of experience during the coming 2/3 months before the WC. As player burnout due to playing too many matches (which could result in injuries) a proper rotational policy will have to be adopted.

It’s very important to play Lahiru Kumara, Praveen Jayawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Chamika Karunaratne, Binura Fernando, KJP & Ramesh Mendis in maximum possible number of matches
