We cannot have players in a team to satisfy certain persons’ interests other than cricket. That is the first. Any player before claiming for captaincy should deserve a place in the team. Andrew F’do showed Dasun’s poor stats in the ODIs as a player running for many years. That cannot be denied. Then how Dasun got the captaincy is important from the back door with a secret deal with the board. Do you like any colleague who does that in your work place even if he is a close friend? When all players come in there will be enmity against Dasun who sort of gave them away to get this captaincy.That is the biggest issue against Dasun now even if scores a century tomorrow. We have to appoint a player for long term who deserves a place in the team & who has support from the team.I think Dasun has neither now when the full team with the likes of Mathew Gunatilaka etc is available.
