    I think malinga is correct and the sports minister is getting almost as embarrassing as Donald trump. BUT, I think it’s fair to say that we lost because of a drop catch… Its obvious… The total was below par, yes, but it was enough and we would’ve won… Still, malinga’s attitude is 100% correct..

    Totally agree and Dasun shanaka is the man… He’s ready made for a seam bowling all rounder…. BUT as @suren1998 said, thisara looked different the last few Odis and I think its worth to give him a shot at least in the champions trophy.. His stroke making did look impressive unlike the slogs and heaves of the past.. But only as a batsman though..

    Im sure the author has put in a let of thought in this and its a very well presented article in many ways… Definitely slc standard has dropped and domestic cricket needs a revamp as said by our previous players.. But cricket at whole is not as bad as this article makes it out to be… We have problems, but in my view if we stick to certain players and trust them, team will come good..

    As much as i hate to say it, the only way we can make a successful league in Sri Lanka is if we somehow make Indian and Pakistan players play in it.. Then it’ll be an automatic success.. But teams shouldn’t not be geographically based.. 8 teams with 5 foreign players in each…
    Lets admit it, we do need a league badly.. we have so much of talent that most people don’t really see.. In tournaments like the ipl even local Indian players who will probably never play for national side get paid well and showcase their talent.. But our cricketers only get benefits if they are in the national side.. its a pity..

    To be realistic, Chandimal will definitely play i think.. But this is my pick among the players available in this squad..

    Awesome squad.. No complains.. A big call but i think the right call to drop mendis… Not because of form, but i feel he’s not yet ready for t20s and it might spoil his career.. He takes time to get in and telling him to score quickly from ball one may affect his game.. Munaweera at 3 is ideal..

    I personally believe that the u should pick the best 11 that can win u a match and they should be in good form that particular moment.. Anything else doesn’t matter.. To be very frank, i was amongst the ones who liked thirimanne and thisara very much at the beginning and thought that they would go far.. Was a huge fan (and still am) of Kjp.. But that shouldn’t make me stubbornly hold on to them and hate everyone else.. I think slc did a big mistake by not giving inform players opportunities and sticking with those misfiring players.. Same with tharanga.. He was never the most consistent and constantly rewarded slip fielders in the first 3 overs.. But he is very much talented, no one can deny that, and was shaping up nicely, making all his experience count by making big scores.. Then they dropped him in the wrong time.. Just like they dropped maharoof (who was probably the best fielders and allrounder in the team) even after getting a hat trick and being in good form.. That has happened.. many players were treated unfairly, and it will happen in the future as well.. We got to live with that and not curse the players who replace them.. There’s no point in bringing back maharoof now, to make it right cuz now its gone, there are better players waiting..should not let personal feelings get in the way.. Tbh , i was never a big fan of dilshan, malinga or chandimal at the beginning.. But they performed, and achieved big things(the 1st two i mean) , so my like or dislike of them doesn’t even matter one bit.. Merit based selections, that’s what we need..
