It would be better if you do some research when publishing on topics that the original source hasn’t covered adequately enough.
They seem to have misinterpreted what Sumathipala said in the parliament. I was listening to the parliamentary proceedings when this topic was discussed. It was just a small interruption to Weerawansha’s speech and basically Sumathipala was trying to say SLC can’t decide on the TV rights of this series because the cricket board of the host country has that authority. To be honest, I didn’t hear this part in particular, “They have decided to give it to the TNL” from Sumathipala. It was more like his words got caught in Weerawansha’s go at TNL. Not everything was clear so not sure. But it’s hard to believe Sumathipala said that, because there is this more realistic explanation that I’ve heard in few other places as well;
