we couldn’t win both because of lack of power hitters.
in 2012 Sanga/Mahela played 6 runs per over with occasional 4’s.
But if they hit 6 at least 1 per over we could win 2012 WC easily.
in 2009 we got only 138 against PAK.it’s because of lack of power hitting.
if we could get 160 we could win the match.
talking about Rank 1 most of countries like NZ,AUS,ENG,Ind playing T20 series with their second string team with lot of new commers. but SL every time play with full strength team with 4 seniors who played more than 10 years and age 35+

T20 all may not be pinch hitters.But in reality T20 team which won the world cup contains only pinch hitters and 6’s will effect the games more than 1,2 and 4’s
Eg:2012 West Indies
Even now they 11/11 are pinch hitters with very little techniques and No Class at all.
Check NZ 2 Maccluum brothers,Correy Anderson,Luck Ronchi,Neesham,Devenvich all can easily put ball out of the park.
Ross Tayler,Willamson may not have a chance to playing 11
CSA all are big hitters from DeCock,Miller,DeVilers,DuPleesy,Duminy even up to no 11
May not have a chance to classi batsmen like Amla or Alveero Peterson
Aussie also same Alron Finch,Watson,Baliey,Haddin,Maxwell,Fluckner easily could get 6’s.
in SL more classic players like Sanga,Thiri,Chandi.
Now Dilshan Rarely hit sixers,Mahela also not in best in fitness and might not see his best.
