For some reason Vaughan always like to insult Sri Lanka . not only cricket , I remember him insulting SL national anthem as well . But in here i have to agree with Vaughan certainly we playing like a Div 2 team in the first test .

@AmilaSaman get your facts right mate , kusal mendis did not arrived in the national side directly from the domestic cricket like
Chaminda Bandara in here . he played in the Sri Lanka A, Sri Lanka A Emerging Players sides and shined in those teams with stats that earns his place to the national side . I remember him scoring a century in India & was among the highest runs scorers in other practice games after that as well , before he got the national cap . so stats of mendis was the guide for him to get selected .domestic stats of Chaminda Bandara is the best among the bowlers , even it is a gamble to get a player to the national side without any SL A experience I’m okay with the our most inform fast bowler getting a direct entry to the national side . that’s why we play domestic cricket for , to pick best players for the national side when they are in good form .

gamble to throw a player with not much SL A experience into the highest level of the game , but the most important message send to the SL domestic competition in here is that if you are performing well you will get picked into the national side even your name is little known , could not ask from a better motivation than that for a players in the domestic cricket to perform better and lift the domestic cricket standards . so hats off to the selectors in that regards .

after loosing almost
after loosing almost everything last year SL cricket won the president award for the the most outstanding sports team of the year 2015 . maybe they are trying to repeat the same feast to win that award again for 2016 lol . at least the SL woman’s youth netball team is in there with some major tournament achievements otherwise it’s a real embarrassment for the president & for that award ceremony. Rugby div1 champions should have won that award along netball for 2015 achievements .
