Alleges looming political pressure on local cricket

There has been a lot of discussion in the cricket industry about a letter sent by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Chairman Shammi Silva to the International Cricket Council (ICC), stating that there will be political pressure on Sri Lanka Cricket even before a week has passed since the appointment of former cricket captain Arjuna Ranatunga as the Chairman of the National Sports Council, as reported in Dinamina. Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe handed the letters of appointment to the new members, including the Chairman of the National Sports Council on the 10th of August last year.
